Last updated 18 September 2026
LACA is a live voice translator and visual companion. This page covers the questions people ask most often, and how to reach a person when something still does not work.
Need a reply? Email lacahvh+support@gmail.com with your device model, iOS version, and a short description of what happened. We read every message. Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple (Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions / Purchase History, or reportaproblem.apple.com).
Getting started
- Live conversation — open Translate, choose your language pair, tap the microphone, and speak. LACA translates and speaks back.
- See and ask — open Discover, allow the camera, point at something, and ask a question out loud.
- Languages — English, Vietnamese, Dutch, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, French, Thai, Spanish, German, Azerbaijani. Change the pair on Translate, or the interface language in Settings.
Permissions
- Microphone — required for live translation and asking questions. If the mic stays silent, check iOS Settings → LACA → Microphone.
- Camera — only for Discover. If you see “Allow the camera,” open iOS Settings → LACA → Camera.
- LACA does not need Contacts, Photos, or Location to work.
Premium and restore
Optional non-renewing plans remove daily limits for a fixed period. They are sold through the App Store.
- Open Settings in LACA (or Premium from the welcome screen) → choose a plan → continue with Apple ID.
- Already paid on this or another device with the same Apple ID? Tap Restore Purchases on the Premium sheet.
- Trial and free daily allowances are explained on the Premium sheet and in the Terms of Use.
Account (optional)
You can use LACA without signing in. An optional account links Premium across devices. Sign in from Settings. If you forget a password, use the recovery flow on the sign-in sheet, or email support with the address you registered.
Common fixes
- “Load failed” / no translation — check your network, then force-quit LACA and open it again. Still stuck? Email us with the time it happened.
- Wrong language — tap the pair at the top of Translate and swap or pick again. UI language follows Settings.
- App looks old after an update — delete LACA, reinstall from the App Store or TestFlight, then Restore Purchases if you had Premium.
