Terms of Use
Last updated 28 September 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and LACA for using the app. By installing or using it, you accept them. They are written to be read, so they are shorter than they could be; nothing has been left out to make them so.
1. What LACA does
LACA translates speech between languages and answers questions about what a camera is pointed at. It is a translation aid. It makes mistakes, and it will make them confidently.
Do not rely on LACA where a wrong translation would hurt. That includes medical instructions, prescriptions and dosages, legal documents and contracts, financial commitments, immigration or customs declarations, safety and emergency instructions, and anything you are signing. For those, use a qualified human interpreter or translator. LACA's output is not professional advice of any kind.
2. Using it
You may use LACA for your own purposes, personal or business. You may not:
- Use it for anything unlawful, or to harass, deceive or harm anyone.
- Record or translate someone without whatever consent the law where you are requires. Recording laws differ by country and by state, and meeting them is your responsibility, not ours.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the app's models or source, except to the extent the law says you may regardless of this clause.
- Resell access, run it as a service for others, or automate it at a scale the daily limits were written to prevent.
- Use it to build a competing translation service, or to generate training data for one.
3. What you say and see stays yours
You keep all rights in what you speak into LACA, what you point it at, and the translations it gives you. We claim no ownership over any of it and use it only as the Privacy Policy describes — including sending microphone audio and (on Discover) camera frames to Google Gemini so the answer on screen can be produced. Translated output may be similar or identical for different people asking the same thing, so a translation is not exclusive to you.
4. Free use, and the daily allowance
LACA is free for everyone until 31 October 2026. After that date the free tier is 5 conversations a day. The allowance resets each day and unused conversations do not carry over to the next day.
5. Plans
A plan removes the daily limit for a fixed length of time. Plans are sold through the App Store or Google Play, at the price each store shows you in your own currency, which may differ from the prices quoted elsewhere because of tax and regional pricing.
Plans do not renew themselves
Every plan is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. It grants access for its stated length — 3 days, 1 week, 1 month, 3 months or 1 year — and then simply ends. Nothing is charged again, there is nothing to cancel, and you will not be billed unless you deliberately buy another plan. The app shows you the exact end date when you buy and again in Settings.
Buying while a plan is running
If you buy a plan while one is still active, the days you have left are kept and the new plan is added on top of them. You do not lose the remainder.
Payment, and refunds
Payment is taken by Apple or Google, not by us, and is charged to your store account at confirmation. Refunds are handled by the store under its own policy, which overrides anything we could offer: for the App Store, request one at reportaproblem.apple.com; for Google Play, through Google Play's refund process. We cannot issue, approve or overturn a store refund on your behalf.
Prices can change
We may change the price of future plans. A change never affects a plan you have already bought — the days you paid for stay yours at the price you paid.
6. Limits, and keeping the app working
Paid plans carry a high daily ceiling that exists only to stop runaway automated use. Ordinary use never approaches it. We may suspend access that is plainly automated, abusive, or aimed at breaking the service for others.
7. Availability
LACA depends on your device, your network, and on services we do not control. It will sometimes be unavailable, and features may change, improve or be removed as the app develops. If we discontinue the app entirely while you hold a plan that has not run out, we will refund the unused portion or arrange for the store to.
8. No warranty
LACA is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of translation. Some jurisdictions do not allow these exclusions, in which case they do not apply to you.
9. Limit of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability to you for anything arising out of LACA is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or US$50. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profit, data, or opportunity, or for loss arising from a mistranslation.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, you keep every right your local consumer law gives you and these terms do not reduce them.
10. Ending it
You can stop using LACA at any time by deleting it. We may end your access if you materially breach these terms; if we do so while you hold a plan that has not run out, we will refund the unused portion unless the breach was fraudulent or unlawful.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top changes when we do. Changes apply from the date they are posted and never retroactively to a purchase you have already made. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept it; if you do not, stop using the app and, if a paid plan is still running, email us.
12. Apple and Google
These terms are between you and LACA, not with Apple or Google. Apple and Google are not responsible for the app or for supporting it, and have no obligation to provide maintenance or support. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these terms and may enforce them against you. To the extent these terms conflict with the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions (including the standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement), the Apple terms govern for purchases made through the App Store. Any claim that the app fails to conform to a warranty may be directed to Apple, which may refund the purchase price; beyond that, Apple has no warranty obligation.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Vietnam, without regard to conflict of laws rules. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country you live in, and you may bring proceedings in your local courts.
14. Contact
Anything about these terms, a plan, or the app itself: lacahvh+support@gmail.com. Refunds are the exception — those go to the store, as section 5 says, because we cannot issue one on your behalf.
